Who we are
KickStart English Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales (Companies House no. 13086806). When these terms refer to "we", "us" or "our", they refer to KickStart English Ltd. When they refer to "you", they refer to anyone who uses our website, enrols in a course, or otherwise interacts with our services.
Acceptance of these terms
By enrolling in a course, attending a lesson, or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not enrol.
Our courses
We provide online English-language courses delivered through scheduled live lessons (typically over Zoom) and supplementary written or audio material. The specific course you have enrolled in — including its level, duration, lesson schedule, and price — is described to you at the point of enrolment. We reserve the right to make reasonable adjustments to scheduling, teaching staff, or course content during the course, provided the overall quality and quantity of teaching does not materially decrease.
Your enrolment
- You must provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date.
- You are responsible for the security of any account credentials you create.
- You may attend lessons, submit homework, and access course materials only for your own personal study. You may not share access with anyone else.
- You will pay the course fees in the currency, schedule, and manner agreed at enrolment.
Refunds and cancellation
Our published refund schedule applies to all course enrolments. The schedule, the specific cancellation windows, and the proportional refund amounts are made available to you at the point of enrolment and on request. We reserve the right to apply discretionary goodwill credits or refunds outside the published schedule on a case-by-case basis.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use our courses or platform to harass other students or staff, to disrupt lessons, to redistribute course material outside your own personal study, or to do anything unlawful under UK law or the law of your country of residence. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your enrolment for material breach of these expectations, with a pro-rated refund where appropriate under our refund schedule.
Third-party platforms
Our lessons are delivered using Zoom, our payments are processed by Stripe, and our course communications use Telegram and email. By enrolling, you accept that these services have their own terms and privacy practices, which apply alongside ours.
Intellectual property
All course material we provide — including lesson plans, slides, written exercises, audio recordings, and assessment materials — remains our intellectual property or that of our licensors. You may use this material for your own personal study during your enrolment. You may not redistribute, republish, or commercially exploit it.
Limitation of liability
We will deliver our courses with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by UK law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your enrolment is limited to the fees you have paid us in respect of the course in which the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from your enrolment will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your country of residence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date below records the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled students by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
